So was the vision of Curtis Bashaw and his partner Will Riccio, who acquired the land that is now Beach Plum Farm in 2007. Impression Art Retreats at Beach Plum Farm

Set amongst Beach Plum Farm's 62 acres of fields and forest, this three-day plein air landscape drawing and painting workshop will offer personalized, one-on-one instruction for both beginners and experienced artists.
All sessions will be led by Elody Gyekis, artist and New York Academy of Art Instructor. Elody Gyekis is a painter and multi-disciplinary artist based in Pennsylvania. Elody’s artwork pushes the boundaries of gender roles and celebrates femininity, using the language of myth and fairytales as a process of personal catharsis. When not doing self-portraits, she works intimately with her subjects, creating collaborative portraits that celebrate their unique identities. Natural themes also dominate her work, which is often filled with flora, fauna and landscapes.

An immersive cottage escape, exploring the magic of raising backyard chickens. A sustainable and fowl-friendly poultry program is at the heart of our operation at Beach Plum Farm—and now, we invite you to learn the basics of raising chickens in your own back yard.

From the moment you enter Beach Plum Farm, you'll notice our in-house residents, our free-range chickens. Some stay behind their fence, and some peep out from behind the garden beds, but all are a part of the backdrop at the farm.
For three days, you’ll be immersed in our world, guided by Beach Plum Farm’s Livestock Manager Andrew Halbruner on all the ins and outs of properly caring for chickens. The capstone project during your getaway will be to build a beautiful Amish-designed wooden chicken coop with your fellow Rooted guests, with expert instruction every step of the way. Throughout your getaway, our Farm Team will provide lessons on the basics of how to raise hens for eggs, how to properly feed and care for chickens, how to protect your flock, and more!
