Beach Plum Farm Cottages

Work and learn alongside Agricultural Director Christina Albert to plant a garden through different seasons, seeds and soils.

Since its inception in 2016, our Kitchen Garden has thrived as a tangible link between Beach Plum Farm and Cape May's vibrant culinary community. "From the beginning, the philosophy behind the raised beds was to create a place for our Chefs to experiment with different vegetables, fruits, and herbs," says Farm Agricultural Director Christina Albert.

Discover the rhythm of the farm with our Rooted: Gardening package—an immersive, educational experience unlike any other. Engage in a series of guided gardening sessions, enjoy light refreshments and meals throughout your stay, and take what you've harvested to indulge in your own farm‑to‑table dinner.

Included in this package:

  • A Welcome Reception
  • Two Hands-On Gardening sessions
  • Breakfast each morning
  • Lunch in between your gardening sessions

Learn more about our Director of Agriculture

Christina Albert

Chistina's passion for fresh food derives from her love of the land and what it offers. With a desire to nourish her body and know exactly what she was putting into it, she started a community garden in Philadelphia to grow her own food and teach others to do the same. She's carried those beliefs with her to this day and continues to teach those values here at Beach Plum Farm.

Christina earned certifications in the Breakthrough Leaders for Sustainable Food Systems from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and is a Rutgers Master Gardener and a certified Market Gardener.

She states, "It's an awesome feeling to provide the best food that I can in the best way I know how that honors the land, the plants and animals, and ourselves".
