Join us on Shelter Island for a getaway filled with infinite inspiration. We're pleased to partner with The New York Academy of Art to offer our first Impression artist retreats.
Set overlooking the Peconic Bay on the Pridwin's beautiful tree-lined campus, this three-day plein air landscape drawing and painting workshop will offer personalized, one-on-one instruction for both beginners and experienced artists.
All sessions will be led by Beth Rundquist, artist and former New York Academy of Art Instructor. Beth has been teaching in the studio and en plein air for over 20 years. Beth works with sensitivity to the student’s individual level and choice of composition and subject.

It’s 1927. You’ve taken your seat to dine at The Pridwin, Shelter Island’s newest resort. As you notice glasses clinking, you’re clued in to open secret: proprietor Dutch Schultz has opened a speakeasy on the property. His girlfriend, Lu Lu, is a regular fixture on the entertainment stage, much to the chagrin of local flapper, Rosie. . .
The night roars along nicely, until bullets crack and the law shows up. As the smoke clears, a body falls—and it doesn’t look like the Charleston did it! Now, it’s up to you to crack the case during this exciting weekend at The Pridwin.
Spend a two-night stay with us and watch the mystery unfold as you experience three days filled with riddles, clues and a whodunit that will keep you guessing until the very end. From costumes and storylines to humor and problem solving, our partners at Murder Cafe will be sure to entertain and surprise guests. The performance is broken up over 4 acts and three days, and it is up to you to solve the crime!

Shelter Island is easily accessible by car ferry. The North Ferry departs from Greenport, NY and the South Ferry from North Haven, NY.
FERRY SERVICE:
Ferry service to Shelter Island is available from both the North Fork via Greenport and the South Fork via Sag Harbor. There are no reservations. Traffic is boarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cars and bicycles pay on board. Both ferries are cash only. For ferry schedules, visit NorthFerry.com and SouthFerry.com.
DIRECTIONS FROM THE SOUTH FORK:
Take the Long Island Expressway (I-495) to Sunrise Highway. Sunrise Highway (Route 27) turns into County Road 39. North onto Sandy Hollow Road (Exit 8) to North Sea Road. Then to Noyac Road; left at traffic circle onto Long Beach Road (turns into Route 114 at traffic circle). Take Route 114 to South Ferry.
DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTH FORK:
Take the Long Island Expressway to end. Continue straight (Route 58). Follow signs to Greenport (Route 25). Once in Greenport, look for signs to North Ferry or Route 114.
Valet Parking is provided. Please pull up in front of the hotel and an attendant will assist you with your luggage and car.
