From Philadelphia, take I-76 East (Schuylkill Expressway) toward Atlantic City, then merge onto I-676 East / US-30 East toward the Ben Franklin Bridge. Cross the bridge into New Jersey and continue on Route 30 East toward Atlantic City. Merge onto the Garden State Parkway South and follow it to Exit 0 for Cape May. Continue on Route 109 South into Cape May, then proceed onto Lafayette Street. Turn left onto Perry Street, then right onto Congress Street. Congress Hall is located at the end of the street.
From New York City, take the Garden State Parkway South and continue for approximately 140 miles to Exit 0, the final exit for Cape May. After exiting, follow signs for Route 109 South toward Cape May. Continue straight onto Lafayette Street, then turn left onto Jackson Street. The Virginia Hotel & Cottages will be on your left at 25 Jackson Street, in the heart of Cape May's Historic District.
From Washington, D.C., take US-50 East / US-301 North toward the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and cross into Maryland's Eastern Shore. Continue on US-50 East / US-301 North, then take US-9 East toward Delaware and follow signs for the Cape May–Lewes Ferry. Board the ferry to Cape May, and upon arrival, follow signs to Route 109 South and Lafayette Street. Turn left onto Jackson Street, and The Virginia Hotel & Cottages will be located at 25 Jackson Street.
As an alternative route, take I-95 North to I-295 North in New Jersey, then connect to the Garden State Parkway South and follow it to Exit 0. Continue into Cape May via Route 109 South and Lafayette Street, then turn left onto Jackson Street to arrive at The Virginia Hotel & Cottages.
For guests arriving by air, the nearest major airport is Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), located approximately 90 miles from Cape May, offering the widest range of domestic and international flights. Atlantic City International Airport (ACY), about 45 miles north, provides a smaller selection of regional service. Cape May Airport (WWD), just a few miles from downtown, accommodates private and charter aircraft. Rental cars are available at both Philadelphia and Atlantic City airports, and driving remains the most convenient way to reach Cape May.
The Cape May–Lewes Ferry offers a scenic and convenient link between Lewes, Delaware, and Cape May, New Jersey, crossing the Delaware Bay in approximately 85 minutes. Accommodating both vehicles and walk-on passengers, the ferry operates year-round with seasonal schedule variations. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially during peak travel periods.
Upon arriving in Cape May, guests are just a short 10-minute drive from The Virginia Hotel & Cottages. From the ferry terminal, follow signs to Route 109 South and continue onto Lafayette Street. Turn left onto Jackson Street, where The Virginia Hotel & Cottages is located at 25 Jackson Street in the heart of Cape May's Historic District, just steps from the beach and Washington Street Mall.
