Anticipation builds at the Virginia Hotel, where, after you check in and unlock the door to your guest room, an intimate evening awaits. Take your seat in the private Richmond Room for this exclusive experience, where you’ll join fellow hotel guests, as well as the winemakers of the very wine that Chef Jason Hanin has tailored his menu to. The night evolves over the clinking of cutlery and glassware, as you’re treated to the storytelling and firsthand experience shared by the featured vineyard’s proprietors. Featuring five delectable courses, these evenings present a can’t-miss offering of immersive wine-focused dining—with each bite chosen to pair with each sip.

Our December Winemaker Select Dinner will be available as part of an overnight package at The Virginia Hotel. Seating is limited for this exciting evening. A la carte reservations will be offered closer to the event, should availability allow.

About Chef Jason Hanin

A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in New York, Executive Chef Jason Hanin has been at the helm of several successful restaurants across the country. He rejoined Cape Resorts in 2017 as the Executive Chef of The Ebbitt Room in the Virginia Hotel. Chef Jason was first part of the Cape Resorts family in 2011, when he was the Executive Chef at Chelsea Prime at The Chelsea Hotel in Atlantic City. Prior to joining The Ebbitt Room, Jason was the Multi-Unit Brand Chef at Blue Plate Oysterette, an upscale, casual seafood restaurant and raw bar in Santa Monica and West Hollywood. His résumé is long and impressive, and includes working with celebrity Chef Robert Irvine in Atlantic City, opening Dune Restaurant in Margate, assisting at the James Beard Awards in 2002, and running one of the top steak houses in the country, Barclay Prime in Philadelphia. A South Jersey native, he is happy to be back at the Jersey Shore where he calls the beach his home.

it’s easy to find us

Cape May is easily accessible from the Garden State Parkway and the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. The hotel is located on Jackson Street, just a half block from the beach and the Washington Street Mall - in the heart of the Historic District.

Valet Parking is provided. Please utilize the 15 minute parking space directly across from the hotel as well as the loading zone (a few yards down the street), as parking on the left side of Jackson Street is prohibited.
