Migration Package Excursions

In the morning, set out for a remarkable natural event along the shores of the Delaware Bay, where millions of horseshoe crab eggs provide a critical food source for migrating shorebirds. This extraordinary phenomenon occurs only for a brief window each spring, as birds such as the Red Knot make their long journey from the southern tip of South America to the Arctic. Witness the fascinating interplay of life as ancient horseshoe crabs come ashore to spawn, while flocks of birds—many of them endangered or threatened—arrive to refuel on the nutrient-rich eggs. It’s a breathtaking display of timing and interdependence in nature, and a must-see for any wildlife enthusiast.

Cape May is internationally renowned for its incredible avian diversity and wide range of habitats. In the afternoon, we’ll explore some of the region’s most productive birding locations, carefully selected to offer you a variety of sightings. From coastal wetlands and salt marshes to woodlands and open fields, each stop provides a different window into the migratory and resident bird populations that thrive here. Whether you're a seasoned birder or a curious beginner, this curated journey through Cape May’s natural landscapes offers an enriching and rewarding experience.
