The Ebbitt Room at The Virginia Hotel in Cape May invites you to discover the extraordinary flavors of the seasons' best with its 2014 culinary dining series lineup featuring all that Cape May has to offer—from the land and the sea. Using the freshest ingredients from the restaurant's very own 62-acre Beach Plum Farm and collaborating with many of Cape May's local favorites, the Ebbitt Room will once again create five intriguing dining experiences - each with it's own unique 5-course menu highlighting New Jersey's seasonal fare.

With the arrival of spring comes the first harvesting of Beach Plum Farm's own Berkshire Hogs. To be held on Friday, April 11th a "Nose to Tail" dinner will mark this occasion with a menu honoring the animal in its entirety. Each course will feature a different part of the pig accentuated with fresh farm produce and modern technique. View Menu.

The 2014 Culinary Series continues with a Cinco de Mayo Dinner on Monday, May 5th. This festive menu will take you through a journey of Mexico with each dish coinciding with a region of the country. Paying homage to traditional techniques, each dish will highlight the specific areas' culinary creativity. The menu starts in the rural peasant areas of the country and makes its way to the grand finale course in Mexico City where all roads (and dishes) converge. View Menu.

On Thursday, July 10, The Ebbitt Room will pay tribute to coastal New Jersey in a culinary celebration of Cape May's local fisherman with Cape May's "Catch of the Day" seafood dinner. A variety of seafood dishes will be paired with a selection of local wines from Hawk Haven Winery.

The series will conclude with the "Steers and Suds" dinner, hosted together with Cape May Brewery on Thursday, September 18th. This dinner will feature grass-fed beef from the Rosenkranz Farms in the Finger Lakes region of New York. The organic beef will be cooked and seasoned to compliment the various taste profiles of the locally crafted beer. The beef has a true free range flavor that pairs well against the hops in the beer. Different beers have flavor progression, just like wine, each course will play against those flavors harmoniously.

"My inspiration for each dinner is to represent a niche aspect of Cape May regional cuisine", says the Executive Chef of the Ebbitt Room. "With our commitment to hand crafted, farm fresh regional American cuisine we hope to encourage our patrons to ‘eat local' and support sustainability."

To reserve the Dining Series or any one of the dinners above, call 609-884-5700. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Individual dinners are $75 per person.

The Ebbitt Room invites you to toast 2014 seasonally with special nights of exquisite cuisine and cocktails! Enjoy a series of gastronomic events that will satisfy culinary enthusiasts across the board. Each dinner will have Farm to Table selections from Beach Plum Farm highlighting local cuisine.
