Cozy and comfortable

Our guest rooms are anything but “shacks” and provide guests a cozy, comfortable space. All our rooms and bungalows feature stylish island-chic décor with brightly colored walls, tasteful furnishings and fun seaside accents. The overall ambiance is fresh and casual.  

Our plush, bright white signature beds are beautiful to look at and wonderful to sleep in. There’s almost nothing better than sinking into their soft, clean, comfort after a long day under the sun and in the surf.  

All rooms also feature renovated bathrooms and kitchenettes with a fridge and microwave, Beach Plum Farm amenities and other essentials. When they aren’t surfing the waves, guests will enjoy surfing the channels on flat screen TVs or surfing the web on WiFi that’s available in-room and throughout the hotel grounds.

Dog Reservations / Registration

We have a limited number of dog friendly rooms available each night and they can only be booked by calling 1877-SHACK-07. During the reservation process you should let the reservation agent know you will be traveling with a dog (1 medium dog, 50lbs or less per room), and wish to book the  PAWS UP package. This way we can ensure we have a dog friendly room available. All dogs must be registered at the front desk upon arrival. If guest is found to have an unregistered dog in room, a $150 fine will be applied to room folio plus the nightly dog fee.

Book the PAWS UP! Dog Pacakge

All guests traveling with a dog must book the PAWS UP! dog package. The package includes a $20 dining credit at Rusty Nail per day, Beach Shack dog leash, and the Beach Shack Dog Welcome Kit. While on the property we want to make sure your dog is just as comfortable as you are. 

The dog Welcome Kit includes: 
-Use of Beach Shack dog bed
-Use of food and water bowls with floor mat
-"Dog in Room" door hanger
-Beach Shack disposable waste bags-3 per stay
-Beach Shack Frisbee-yours to keep!
-Plus a special dog treat

Pup Policies

To ensure that all of our guests enjoy their time at the Beach Shack, here are some rules we require when staying with your dog.

For the safety of your dog and Beach Shack staff, please make sure that you hang the "Dog in Room" door hanger provided on your room doorknob. We suggest that you make arrangements with the front desk for you to remove your dog from the room when the housekeeper is cleaning to ensure the best results. You may be contacted via cell phone if any issues arise.

Want to head to dinner or to the beach for a couple of hours? No problem! Dogs may be left in the room unattended as long as they are not a disturbance to other guests. Please notify the front desk when you are leaving your dog in the guest room unattended. Dogs left in room must be in an owner-supplied crate.  A cell phone number must be left at check in for us to contact you in case there is a problem while you are away. Your dog is welcome to join you at the Rusty Nail (in fact, we encourage it!). However, your dog must be on a leash and dogs are not to be left unattended in any public areas including balconies, parking lot, Rusty Nail, etc. Dogs are not allowed in the Beach Shack pool. 

Please do not bathe your dog in the guest room tubs or showers. We ask that owners keep their dog under control as a courtesy to other guests. Should damages be discovered that would require additional cleaning or repairs, the guest is required to pay for said damages. If they are discovered following the guests departure, they are responsible for the damages. Should a pet create a disturbance which causes complaints from other occupants or hotel personnel, the guest may be asked to house their dog elsewhere for the remainder of their stay. 

Walking Your Dog in Cape May

Dogs can be walked around town, however, they are not permitted on any beaches, the promenade or the Washington Street Mall. All waste must be bagged and disposed of properly. This city ordinance is strictly enforced.

 

Hotel guests must be twenty-five (25) years of age or older to check-in.

Cancellation:

Reservations October - May
Deposits are fully refundable and transferable 21 days prior to arrival. Deposits are transferable for up to 1 year when cancelled between 4 & 21 days of arrival (one-time consideration only), less a $75.00 modification fee. Cancellations within 72 hours of the arrival date would result in a full forfeit of the stay. We cannot insure your reservation against inclement weather. Early departures are handled as cancellations and are subject to the same policy. Advance deposits may be paid with cash, check or major credit card. Upon departure guests can pay by cash or major credit card. Checks will not be accepted to settle final balance upon departure.

From the Cape May Lewes Ferry

From the Ferry Terminal in North Cape May, follow the signs for Route 109 South and the Garden State Parkway. Take Route 109 South over the Cape May bridge onto Lafayette Street. Follow Lafayette Street approximately 1.5 miles until you dead end at Jackson Street. Turn left onto Jackson Street. Turn right onto Beach Avenue.

From New York

Exit Manhattan to New Jersey Turnpike. Take the N.J. Turnpike South to Exit 11 for the Garden State Parkway. Take the G.S. 95 North to Delaware Memorial Bridge, take bridge to Route 40 East. Follow Route 40 to Route 55 South to end (at Route 47 South). Route 47 South to Garden State Parkway South. G.S.
